Prof. Reiner Creutzburg Represents CyberMACS at INTED 2025 Conference in Valencia

Valencia, Spain – In a dynamic environment filled with innovative discussions and over 550 participants from around the world, Prof. Dr. Reiner Creutzburg participated in the International Conference INTED 2025, presenting his research on cybersecurity in the educational metaverse.

On March 4, Prof. Creutzburg delivered his first presentation on “Cybersecurity in the Educational Metaverse”, sharing insights into the challenges and opportunities of integrating the metaverse into education. His presentation featured the research paper “Educational Metaverse – Cybersecurity Aspects and Challenges”, a comprehensive study on cybersecurity risks and protective measures for secure virtual learning environments.

The paper, co-authored by M.I. Ecevit (Kadir Has University, Turkey), A. Feta (International Balkan University, North Macedonia), and H. Dağ (Kadir Has University, Turkey), explores the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and blockchain in education. It highlights key cybersecurity concerns, including protecting students’ data, safeguarding intellectual property, and mitigating social engineering attacks in increasingly decentralized virtual spaces.

During the discussion, Prof. Creutzburg presented essential strategies for ensuring security and privacy in the educational metaverse, including secure authentication methods, advanced data encryption, and the development of comprehensive privacy policies. He emphasized the importance of building adaptable cybersecurity frameworks that can evolve with emerging technologies and security threats.
